Dr Tian Mingliang, male, born in 1965. He received his PhD    degree in 1992 from Wuhan University and then joined University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) as a faculty member. He was appointed as a full professor of physics in 1998 due to his fruitful and successful research in low dimensional physics and the related fields. Between 2001 and 2010, Dr Tian worked in Pennsylvania State University as a research scientist in Center for Nanoscale Science and Department of Physics focused on charge and spin transport properties in confined geometries. In 2010, Dr Tian was invited to join high magnetic field laboratory, Hefei Institute of Physical Science, CAS, as a faculty member with a title of “A hundrend Talent Scholar”. He has authored or co-authored a total 106 papers published in well-known journals. He also took charge of a number of key research projects including 973, NSF and others. His recent research interests include: Synthesis, design and physical properties in low dimensional and mesoscopic system; superconductivity and magnetism in hybrid system.
